Hello again, everyone!
I’ve been enjoying all the snow, while mulling over the suggested holiday assignment from WLS and editing our latest podcast. In the meantime, though, I wanted to post a great story from last month, to lift everyone’s spirits (should they need it).
My cousin Helen won the first prize for Ireland in the EU “Development Days” youth art contest! She will be travelling to Zambia next March, with her art teacher and the other European winners. The finalists all created wonderful art works, and it’s definitely worth checking them out, if you have the time. Here’s a link where you can view them all.

And here’s a picture of Helen with the other 2 (!) Irish finalists at the Development Days conference in Strasbourg last month.

The 3 Irish winners, Aoife M., Caoimhe G., and Helen H.
Amazingly enough, there was a sort of mini Celtic Tiger amongst the British winners of this award. The UK winner was an Irish girl from Belfast, and the runner-up was a young man from Wales! So, there were 3 winners from Ireland, as you see.
Well, I must run now, but I hope you enjoyed this post. I hope to have the podcast up and running by tonight, and I’ll post again as soon as I do.
In the meantime, have a wonderful day, everyone, and very happy holidays!
